NAB to file asset reference against Sharjeel Memon

The Pakistani Accountability Office has decided to file three new references, including a reference to assets against former Sindh Minister Sharjeel Memon, and to launch 12 new investigations after receiving the approval of its chairman at a meeting of the executive committee held on Friday.

NAB will file a reference against Memon to own more assets than its known source of income.

Other references will be filed against the former PSO MD, Irfan Khalil Qureshi and Abdul Hameed. The bureau accused them of causing billions of dollars in losses to the Treasury.

In addition, new investigations will be opened against Fawad Hassan Fawad, Senator Kalsoom Parveen and Babar Ghouri. NAB will also plunder the assets of the Syed Owais Shah MPA, Ali Ghulam Nizamani and Syed Khan Nizamani.

Justice (ret) NAB President Javed Iqbal said the office would hold everyone to account. He said that 71 billion rupees had been recovered and returned to the national treasury.
